To Children With love is now taking its wealth of experience in helping disadvantaged children and young people and launching The Rising Tide Project for Irish secondary schools. This is a holistic and inclusive initiative, which aims to tackle educational inequality through a suite of progressive and holistic supports for secondary school students living in areas of social and/or economic disadvantage.
The Rising Tide project will foster and encourage every student’s untapped academic, sporting, entrepreneurial and creative talents. The ultimate aim of the project is to increase progression rates to Universities, colleges, apprenticeships and the workplace and to ensure that students graduate from secondary school with the relevant qualifications and self-belief to forge successful and fulfilled lives in their communities.
‘A rising tide lifts all boats…’ – John F. Kennedy
Our entrepreneurial programme introduces students to the concept of enterprise, self-employment, sales and marketing. Students will be mentored by some of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs and compete in our own Dragon’s Den where their business ideas, products and sales skills will be improved and judged by their mentors.
Our gardening programme engages students with their surroundings, educating them on the role of plants and flowers in their environment. This is a hands on programme where students gain valuable knowledge and skills such as planting, garden maintenance, and composting. The programme creates an appreciation of gardens and the outdoors, enhances student well-being and focuses on employment opportunities.
Coder Dojo Coding Club
Our coding club enables students to improve their digital literacy in an informal environment. Based in our ebay study hub, students will learn the basic principles of coding under the guidance of the fantastic coding mentors from Ergo, Ireland’s leading cloud and IT services provider.
Discover Ireland Programme
Sponsored by Extreme Ireland, our discovery programme enables students explore the beauty, history and geography of Ireland. Every month each class travels to an incredible destination that encompasses learning and outdoor activity in a unique trip.
This is a bespoke programme that is built around each one of our 15 scholarship students. Each year students are invited to apply to become a Rising Tide Scholar. Students are chosen because they have an interest, aptitude or talent in a specific area, including, but not limited to academia. The scholarship offers students the opportunity to improve their skills, gain experience in their area of interest and engage with the key leaders in the field.
